Chapter 3: Blood Always Tells
And so our story comes to an end!
I’m really not sure what to say at this point- Harlowe has been, for the most part, very much made up as I go along, but Cas, Harry, Alice and Soldier have been living in my head for a couple years now. I’m tremendously proud of this story, and happy to finally have it all on paper, but it’s a bittersweet feeling to be done with them all, Cas especially. He was an asshole, and a fuckup, but I loved spending time with him, and I’ll miss him terribly now that the story’s done.
Still, there may be other tales to tell- How did Cas find the Midnight Tribe? And the Wolf? This story may be done, but I don’t think it’s the last we’ll be seeing of these characters…
So instead of goodbye, I think I’ll say farewell, and to those of you who stuck with me on this one, thanks for reading, and I’ll see you back in Harlowe next month!
Chapter 2: In the Blood
New questions rear their head, but the answers are close now…
This was… rough. I’m tremendously happy with the end result, but this was the most work I’ve ever done on a project- I don’t know if it’s obvious from the finished product, but this is a LOT harder to do than Harlowe, and a LOT more work. So the bad news is, chapter 3 is going to be delayed- I’m tentatively scheduling it for March 20th, to give myself a couple extra weeks to finish it up. There will be content in the down time, I’ll be posting an extra Wolfe & Newt strip to make up for the delay!
Chapter 1: Cancer
Drawing all these real life locations was a ton of fun, but was so much work- it doesn’t help that this comic has a lot more detail than Harlowe does because of that, my workload on this project went from 2 hours per page to somewhere between 4 and 10 hours per page. I hope it shows.
As much work as it was, it was even more fun to do. There’s two more chapters to come in this story, and then it’ll be back to Harlowe while I work on the next big project.
